PlayaNET - 2001 - Networking Burning Man
a project of Fusion Valley
Each year the people at PlayaNET have to go through weeks of preparation to make it all pull off.  This year things will be different.  We are still in the development, and growing stages, and we have taken some steps to simplify our lives.  This year the booths which will house the PlayaNET equipment will be pre built.  This will save us several days of work during the event.  This came about with the fact that Burningman itself has grown, and now uses flat bed trucks to haul equipment to the playa from the DPW storage yard.  With this new recent addition to the event, we have found that we can utilize this as well, and make things happen much faster, and much much more efficiently!  So... In a few more days, the first booth which is completed will be displayed on this page so you all can see what they will look like.  There will be a total of 3 booths this year.  One in center camp, and one in each of the outposts at 3, and 9 O'clock.

Each booth will be an 8 foot cube of OSB (plywood) and each will have a short tower on top on which will have the Access point Antennae on it.  Each hopefully will have a PlayaNET Flag as well.  If we get those made in time.

We can use any help if you have the time to help.  Join the email list, and let us know if your interested.
